2026.7.10 Division BBQ party
Hello, I’m Kitano, a B4 student!
On July 10, our division held a Genghis Khan BBQ party.
With nearly 100 people in attendance—from second-year undergraduates to professors—it was a great opportunity to see just how close-knit our group is.

It was a great opportunity to interact with students from other labs, and I especially appreciated getting to talk with international students!
I think our research will gain more depth as we spark others’ interest in our work and, in turn, take an interest in theirs.

This Resource division gathering BBQ is held every year; it’s an important tradition that provides an opportunity to break down barriers between different academic years.
I would be thrilled if any second- or third-year students at this gathering spoke with geology students and sparked their interest in the field.
